William Elihu HIatt Jr.

 Bill served in the U.S. Army from  July 1943 to Oct 9, 1945
 
He served in the European Theatre of WWII


He was shot in the back, and wounded  two other times and held as a prisoner of war from January  2,1945 to April 9, 1945, in Germany
He was awarded a Purple Heart with one oak cluster, A combat infantryman badge, EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle Eastern) Theatre Ribbon w/4 bronze stars, and two overseas service bars.
 
 
Diana sent me some information on her dad after I asked her some information to do a previous post.  I learned a lot more about Uncle Bill as I read through the information.  This is one of the pages she included.
