New news!

Kerry and I are going to be Grandparents once again. Jessica and Dave are expecting a new one in July. I am very excited.

David and Jessica expecting baby number three!
I am sorry that I have not done a very good job on this blog, things have been a little crazy for all of us. I hope that others of you will post some of your favorite memories as the new year begins and the Holiday's are past.

This is one of my favorite Hiatt Family memories. Many will remember the stories of us getting stuck in the mud as we were heading up to the ranch in Bondurant Wyoming to see Uncle Shorty and Aunt Melba. I think it was one of the funniest experiences I may have had. Watching Bernice, Louise, and my Mom go through the mud to where Uncle Shorty was waiting on a tractor to haul us to the house was almost as funny as Shorty laughing at us as we worked our way towards him. I am not even sure how long we were actually there but it was such a great experience. I was teased by Mike, Brent and Dennis because I was such a city girl and was afraid to get on the horses, Mike finally convinced me to ride on the back with him, although I will say I was still not very comfortable. The horses were a little jittery and one threw Bernice off and she landed funny on her back, that was the one negative to the trip. While the cousins roamed and investigated around the ranch we went into an old abandoned shed and played. I discovered some dishes that were forgotten about on an old shelf. I told Aunt Melba about them, a few weeks after our trip Sheila came to visit us in Arvada and brought a box with her. Melba had not forgotten about those dishes and sent them to me, I still treasure them and have actually become addicted to Green Depression Glassware as a result of them.
I have to say this picture conjures the best memory, these four laughing and talking for hours on end while we were there. It truly is one of my favorite pictures.
I hope that all of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please feel free to share pictures and stories that you love.

Here we grow again!

Our second daughter, Natalie, and her husband Dave added a new member to our family this past week.

Just before they left for the hospital.
Tanner David arrived at 5:40 am on October 27, 2009. Les's birthday also.
He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long.

Tanner in his first outfit, he didn't particularly like the process.
His very first picture. He is adorable and yes I am very biased.
Welcome to the family little one!

Newest member of our Family

In May the newest member of our family was born. Nora Rose is the first of our fourth daughter, Cydney and her husband Ken. Our first granddaughter. She is a little doll.

They live in Kansas City where Ken is attending Chiropractic school.
Here she is in August when they came to visit during a break in classes.

We were able to be together for a short time and Rosemarie was able to take some family pictures for us. This is the whole group for now Natalie, our second daughter, and her husband Dave are expecting their first son in two weeks.

Kerry and I never dreamed how fun it would be to be Grandparents!

Rebecca our youngest still lives at home but I have this sneaky feeling that it is only a matter of time before she spreads her wings.
Jessica, our oldest, and her husband Dave and their boys Spencer and Caleb live close by in Eagle Mountain.
Soon to be parents Dave and Natalie also live in Eagle Mountain.
Rachel and Cameron are in Pleasant Grove.
Ken, Cydney and little Nora.
I am sorry that it has taken so long to get word of this out to those who gave me the email addresses earlier this year. But I am ready to move forward with this now. I hope you will be able to add to it with special events and happenings in your family so that we can all keep in better touch with one another.
Please let me know if there are things that you don't want published because for the time being this will not be a private blog.
Love,
Lauri

Family Reunion

June 27, 2009 A family reunion was held in Paul Idado hosted by Bernice Hiatt Dayton's family. I'm sorry to say that Carol Hiatt Smith's family did not have representation that day. From what I hear it was a great visit with those that were able to attend. Hopefully I will get some pictures that can be added to this at a later date.
